PUBG temporarily banned in Pakistan on 2 July 2020 till 10th July and since they are asking for feedback from the public so here is my feedback. First of all its your duty to keep check on your child and to give them a time limit to play video games. Of course excess of everything is bad and I completely agree with that. Lets now take a look on how the ban has affected gamers. So there are streamers including Indian and Pakistani out there who worked for years and years to improve their game play, gave their time and their savings to excel in this field and are now professional players and they have a huge amount of following and they earn a very good amount of income from gaming. Some gamers are just surviving through the money earned by gaming and tournaments. I can give you example of some gamers and streamers who are not less than superheros in some young gamers eyes. Mr.J.plays,Morro, Arslan ash,Extra thugs,Ducky extra, very nucleur .And because our government is very interested in bringing dollar to our country so let me inform you that most of the Pakistani streamers get their income in dollars.
As far as studies and wastage of time are concerned, i think it is completely illogical to blame gaming as the distraction of studies.Even i have seen gamers who play like 4 to 6 hours and still perform excellent in their studies. And i have also seen people who dont have any distractions but still they cant focus on the studies. Is it wastage if your giving time to something that you are highly respected of by society and earning through?
Now lets take a look at the suicide that was committed due to PUBG well let me remind you of the suicide that some universities students committed due to overburdening and bullying and is still going on every year. Does it mean universities should be banned? This not how things work. The ban is not the solution to any problem instead it would increase aggression in youth and could lead in loss of gamers time and investments. Moreover if you want to involve the youngsters into physical games then you have to provide some forum for physical activities. So my question from the government and concerned authorities is how many sports forums are provided by you during last five years that could involve youngsters into physical activities and to develop their interest and time into sports? Are their any football or cricket matches for youngsters? Are they? Then what could you expect youngster to do and to utilize their time on.It is individual and collective responsibilities of both parents and state to provide youth with better alternative if so concerned.
